Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, or/and R
  • Experience with major big data technologies and frameworks including but not limited to Hadoop, MapReduce, Pig, Hive, Oozie, HBase, Mahout, ZooKeeper, Flume, Spark, MongoDB, and Cassandra
  • Experience with big data solutions developed and deployed in large cloud computing infrastructures such as Amazon Web Services, Elastic MapReduce
  • Should have experience in designing solutions for multiple large data warehouses with a good understanding of high performing architectures as well as high-scale or distributed RDBMS and knowledge on NoSQL platforms such as Couchbase, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, etc.
  • Must have proven experience with cross-industry, cross-functional and cross-domain know-how
  • Data Science and Analytics experience is a plus (Machine Learning, Recommendation Engines, Search Personalization)
  • Experience working with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend and/or Pentaho is a plus
  • Demonstrated project management experience in Agile (Scrum), which includes project planning, execution, risk management, and resource management
  • Strong experience in applications design, development and maintenance
  • Solid knowledge of design patterns and refactoring concepts
  • Practical expertise in performance tuning and optimization, bottleneck problems analysis
  • Possess expertise in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain the work in plain language

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Development of implementation proposals and design of scalable big data architecture and solutions
  • Participate in customer’s workshops and presentation of the proposed solution with the ability to clearly articulate pros and cons of various technologies and platforms
  • Design, architect, implement, and deploy high-performance, custom applications at scale on Hadoop
  • Design and development of network infrastructure solutions which enable partners and clients to scale NoSQL and relational database architecture for growing demands and traffic
  • Define business and development processes, platform and tools usage for data acquisition, storage, transformation, and analysis
  • Perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments and use this in designing the solution
  • Develop implementation strategy and best practices around data science initiatives including but not limited to areas of recommendation engines, predictive modeling, and machine learning
  • Help program and project managers in the design, planning and governance of implementing projects of any kind
  • Review and audit of existing solution, design and system architecture
  • Perform profiling, troubleshooting of existing solutions
  • Create technical documentation
