Estuate aids IT project implementation at Stanford

Organizations often have a large number of tools at their disposal. Although this is good news for allowing more choices, it can also make it more difficult to fully optimize a set of integrated tools. As has been showcased by Estuate's work with Stanford University, third-party software services offer optimization as a key benefit, but the value from service providers is often multi-faceted. Below are several examples of how Estuate helps Stanford make the most of Oracle technology.

Gift transmittals system

Stanford receives thousands of gifts per year and, under the university's previous system, gift processing had to be done manually. Between processing the gift transmittal form, conflict of interest form and signatures, it could take several weeks to send all the necessary documentation to the Office of Development.

Estuate developed a custom gift transmittal system application using Oracle APEX. The new app was designed to facilitate communication between departments and expedite the approval process. In addition, integration with PostGrads system was done which hosted the donor names, the Gift Transmittals was able to integrate with Oracle E-Business Suite.

P-CARD and IOU systems

More organizations are starting to build their own applications so that their software is fine-tuned according to specific needs. However, getting the most value from software often means fostering integration among different programs. Two examples of Stanford's custom software development projects are the iOU and Procurement Card applications. The former is an application that facilitates expense reimbursement, while PCard is used for credit card charges.

Integrating expense management systems with other applications better streamlines the reimbursement process and reduces the possibility of creating duplications. Estuate developed the integration for iOU and for P-CARD.

EHS work order request

The Environmental Health and Safety Department at Stanford is responsible for various infrastructure services across the university. Estuate developed an application using Oracle APEX, integrating it with the Enterprise Asset Management module of Oracle E-Business Suite.

The application is designed to allow non-EAM users to initiate and easily track maintenance and asset requests. For example, the software allows for users to search requests by request number, work order, data submitted and other filtering criteria. Selecting a specific request will produce more details regarding the project.
