The client is one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies by revenues, and headquartered in the United States. With a strong global portfolio that includes medicines and vaccines, as well as many of the world's best-known consumer healthcare products, the company has established relationships with healthcare providers, governments and local communities to support and expand access to healthcare around the world.
The client used the Revitas Contract And Rebate System (CARS) to handle their revenue management processes and to process complex chargebacks. While using the Revitas CARS Solution, the client was beginning to experience the effects of “data cholesterol”. Data cholesterol resulted from years of accumulated data, most of which was no longer used, and was beginning to clog the client’s revenue management system performance. Maintaining the Service Level Agreements with their customers for adequate performance was their biggest business challenge. Their typical response to the data growth problem was to throw hardware resources - CPU, memory and storage. However, this was neither scalable, nor cost effective, and they needed a more intelligent solution to the problem.
Estuate offered a data growth and archiving solution to extract little-used data from the production database and store it in an archive. The solution covers the full lifecycle of all data included within CARS. It ensures optimal system performance by controlling the challenges connected with long-term data growth. Key solution highlights include:
Estuate’s Optim Data Growth and Archiving solution eliminates data cholesterol by archiving historical data safely to a secure archive. This had a significant impact on CARS performance and brought data growth in a range of enterprise business applications under control while lowering cost and risk. Key benefit include:
