Step-by-Step Guide to Securely Share the Data with Estuate using PGP public key

To maintain the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive data during the migration process to Estuate, we strongly recommend using the Estuate Data Migration PGP public key provided at the bottom of this page. This key will enable you to encrypt the sensitive data for PCI-compliant migration.

Steps for Migrating Sensitive Data to Estuate

If you’re new to PGP, we recommend starting with GPG and importing a public key to get familiar with the basics. Once you’re comfortable with PGP, you can use the following PGP key to encrypt sensitive data, such as credit card information, for PCI-compliant migration.

To migrate sensitive data into Estuate, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Import the Estuate Data Migration PGP Key

Please copy the contents of the Estuate Data Migration PGP Public Key provided at the bottom of this page and paste it into a file named “key.txt”.

Step 2: Validate the Authenticity of the PGP Key

To verify the authenticity of the key, follow these steps:

Make sure you are accessing this information on Estuate site. For example https://www.estuate.com/resources/estuate-pgp-public-key/
After importing the key, confirm that the imported key matches the following PGP key fingerprint and attributes.

Step 3: Use the Estuate Data Migration PGP key to encrypt the data

Once you’ve imported the key, use the following procedures to encrypt FILENAME before sending it to Estuate:

Save all the data you want to encrypt in the file named FILENAME. This file can contain any type of content, such as text or binary file formats like .xlsx or .zip files. The name FILENAME is used for illustrative purposes only.
Encrypt the FILENAME using the Estuate PGP Key by running the following command:

gpg -o TargetFileName.enc --encrypt SourceFileName.csv

This command creates a new file called FILENAME.gpg, which contains the encrypted data.

Step 4: Share the securely encrypted data with Estuate

All data intended for data migrations must be encrypted using the authenticated Estuate PGP Public key. Share the encrypted data only with authorized Estuate personnel using the approved encrypted file transfer service provided by Estuate.
